about

This song was written entirely during hiking and canoeing trips in the wilderness and was completed on a canoe trip in Maine while staying on an island in the middle of a tidal river. Every twelve hours the tide would come in and put out the fire in the fire pit that had been intentionally built at the edge of the shore for safety. The last night of the trip we were sitting around playing music and finished writing this song as the tide came in around the benches surrounding the fire. We were so intent on finishing the song that we didn't notice we were completely surrounded by water until it happened. So we perched on the benches to finish the song and then had to get wet to get back to our campsite. Fortunately we didn't have to swim or the guitar would have been damaged.

lyrics

Flow like water
Drink the rain
Follow the river
Down the mountain again

Chorus:
Give me all that I want
I want it all
Only please show me which way to crawl

Tide is arising
Feets gotten wet
Ebbin and flowin now
Til we only forget

Chorus

Turn over each stone
Wipe the sweat from my brow
Searchin for something
And not knowin how

Chorus

Directionless wandering
Follow the Tao
If you'll be the stern then
I'll be the bow

Chorus

about

Decaying Matters Freedom, New Hampshire

Decay Matters is committed to transmuting the rotting shit of life into creative gold through authentic attending to the process, art and pain of being alive. Much like compost, this produces fertile soil for continued growth and delicious fruits, through our shared labor of love, that is the joy of conciousness.

To clarify, I am full of rotting shit and soul composting is infinite permaculture.
